The good news is there are plenty of theme parks to keep the kids occupied. The bad news is there are plenty of theme parks and that can get expensive. But isn't that why you are here…to save money on your accommodations in Orlando so that you have more to spend on fun!!
Be sure to book your hotel early so you can get a great rate…some of the more affordable hotels on our site include the Best Western Walt Disney World Resort, Clarion Hotel Maingate, Ramada Inn Resort Eastgate, Microtel Inn & Suites, Sleep Inn Disney Maingate, and the Baymont Inn…and they all provide easy access to the parks.
But let's get down to the serious business…the parks. Walt Disney World is undoubtedly the most popular of them all and comprises the Magic Kingdom , Epcot, Disney - MGM Studios, and Animal Kingdom. It's hard to believe the Magic Kingdom has been open since 1971, and even though you may have been there numerous times before, it does have some new additions including ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter and Splash Mountain . The Royal Plaza Walt Disney Resort is an official Walt Disney World Resort while others nearby include Sierra Suites Lake Buena Vista, Howard Johnson Maingate East, Howard Johnson Maingate West, the Best Western Eastgate, Super 8 Maingate, Quality Inn Maingate West, Days Inn Maingate East, and the Ramada Inn Resort Eastgate.
And then there's Universal Orlando with Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure. Similar in theme to Disney-MGM Studios, it's all about the movies here with rides and shows situated throughout six zones: Hollywood , New York , Production Central, San Francisco/Amity, Woody Woodpecker's KidZone, and World Expo. There is a 3-D Terminator action show, the Nickelodeon Studios (where a child volunteer can get slimed), Earthquake and Jaws attractions, a Men In Black: Alien Attack ride, and much more.
If marine life is more your scene, you've got SeaWorld and Discovery Cove. SeaWorld is a notch down in terms of excitement and thrills…it's more about education and interaction…but you will still find a steep flume style ride and a floorless roller coaster. Highlights include a Water Ski Show, a Dolphin Show, the popular Penguin Encounter, and of course, what SeaWorld is known for: Shamu. Discovery Cove is also operated by Sea World and features snorkeling in a huge pool with a coral reef and tropical fish, fresh and saltwater pools and rivers to swim and sunbathe, waterfalls, exotic birds, and much more! Sheraton's Vistana Villages and the Howard Johnson Plaza Hotel & Suites are both close to SeaWorld.
